Teacher got surprised, only one of his students shows up after the long Holiday

After a long Christmas break that began on December 15, 2018, students in public schools were expected to get back to school on January 3, 2019. But many students were absent on the first day of the resumption of classes!

Chito Grullo, who happens to be a teacher from Binalonan, Pangasinan, came back to work on Thursday refreshed and ready, after the Christmas break.

But lo and behold, only one student showed up.

Of the 32 children enrolled in his class, teacher Grullo was rather surprised and frustrated when only one student actually showed up on January 3. After his initial surprise, the teacher eventually found humor in the situation and decided to snap a photo with his lone student.

Chito says he gave the admirable student extra points for his effort.

The teacher captioned the picture:

January 3... may long quiz pa sana ngayon...tsk..
#MayFirstHonorNaAko.

The picture actually went viral, with many netizens commenting that they felt as lazy as the other students in Grullo’s class. The photo also sparked memes and jokes on social media.

For instance, one netizen joked that the boy must have missed the class’ group chat messages.

But if Grullo was frustrated with the morning class, the afternoon class was worse – no one showed up!

He is expecting complete attendance on Monday, Chito says, advising his students to enjoy the remainder of their (extended) vacation because by next week, it will definitely be “back to reality.”

Netizens have extremely mixed reactions:
