Bishop dares Pres. Duterte: Walk the streets without bodyguards

A friendly challenge was issued by Novaliches Bishop-Emeritus Teodoro Bacani Jr. on Tuesday to President Rodrigo Duterte to walk the streets without his bodyguards to protect him.

In a statement, Bacani said that Duterte should also roam without his bodyguards beside him like what bishops in the country are doing, noting that if the President is indeed brave, then he should accept the challenge.

The dare came on the heels of Duterte’s recent remarks urging jobless people to rob and kill Catholic bishops.

Bacani said bishops are not afraid of roaming around communities without security escorts. By doing the same, Duterte would see how people from different walks of life would really react and mingle with him, the bishop added.
